Plastic enclosures Hammond 1554 series are designed with emphasis on a water and dust protection of components and devices. This is ensured by a proper two piece "tongue & groove" lid construction and by a replaceable pre-formed silicone gasket seal. Thanks to these details, enclosures meet IP66 class. Lid is secured with M4 stainless steel machine screws (included), threaded into integral stainless steel bushings (for repetitive assembly & disassembly). The same material of screws and bushings avoid corrosion caused by dissimilar metals. Secure mounting of inner components secure four M3 threaded integral brass inserts and/or standoffs. Vertical placing of PCBs is also possible thanks to molded guides (for 1.5mm thick boards). The enclosure can be mounted to a wall or shelf through the back of the enclosure, with openings outside of the gasket seal.
Hammond 1554 series contains types of various sizes, made of ABS – UL94 HB, polycarbonate – UL94 V0 and also versions with transparent or smoked lids. Enclosures made of polycarbonate are UV stabilized and recommended for outdoor use. Types made of ABS are recommended for indoor use only. Upon request are also available galvanized steel inner panel and mounting feets.
