Stainless Steel Cabinet
Stainless steel is used widely in food manufacturing and pharmacy. It is characterized by the addition of chromium — at least 10.5 percent of total composition. Chromium is highly reactive to oxygen environments and quickly forms a highly resilient passivated barrier on its surface protecting the internal structures from further corrosion. Stainless steel can be easily cleaned and disinfected. Its smooth surface—which is a result of polishing—does not support bacterial and mold growth.
304 stainless steel grade contains 18 to 20% Cr, 8 to 10% Ni, < 2% Mn, <0.75% Si, <0.08% C, < 0.045P and < 0.03% S. It has excellent anti-corrosion features, making it suitable for most food products. The presence of chlorides, however, can compromise passivated surfaces and cause pitting corrosion.
316 stainless steel grade is similar to 304 but contains 16 to 18% Cr, 10 to 14% Ni and 2 to 3% Mo. In conjunction with chromium, molybdenum provides superior resistance to attacks by most chemicals and increased resistance to chloride corrosion as compared to 304 steel grade. This makes it more suitable for processing of meat products and foods with mild salt contents.
316L steel grade is the most common type of stainless steel used in the pharmaceutical industry. Corrosion resistance is the same as standards 316, but the low carbon content (<0.03%) helps to avoid possible inter-granular corrosion in welding.
IP69K
The IP69K rating provides complete protection against ingress of dust and protection against splashing hot water with temperature 80 °C under high pressure 8–10 MPa (80–100 bar) – making products with this certification ideal for use in industries such as food processing, where hygiene and cleanliness are paramount.
The IP69K rating is the highest protection available.
TWP series
Series offers panel PCs with 10.1” 1280x800 and 15.6” 1366x768 displays with projective capacitive multi-touch touch screen and Gb Ethernet optionally with 802.3at PoE, 2xUSB and RS232 interfaces. It is based on Intel Atom x5-E8000 (4x 1.04GHz), Pentium N3710 (4x 1.60GHz), NXP i.MX6 Solo, DualLite or Quad 1GHz processor.
You can find summary information in TWP series brochure.
Expansion Possibilities
Models with Intel processor offer
● M.2 2230 Key-E slot with PCIe and USB, typically for Wi-Fi, BT module
● M.2 2242 Key-B, the slot with USB and SIM card signals for LTE module
● M.2 2242/2280 Key-B slot with SATA and USB, the motherboard is compatible with 2242 and 2280 sizes.
NXP iMX6 based models offer
● mPCIe half-size/full-size slot with PCIe and USB, typically for Wi-Fi, BT module
● mPCIe half-size/full-size slot with USB and SIM signals for LTE module
● M.2 2242 Key-B slot with SATA and USB for i.MX6Q based models, other models offer only USB
● M.2 2242 Key-B slot with USB
To preserve IP69K, wireless modules have to be assembled by the manufacturer.
M12 Waterproof Connectors
All interfaces use industry standard M12 connectors. TechNexion offers 3 m long waterproof cables for power, LAN, 2xUSB and RS232. The enclosure contains 3 additional positions for M12 connectors for customization.
