Quectel brings an ultra-compact and affordable LTE Cat. 1 bis module
Ultra-compact 4G/LTE module EG800Q-EU LTE Cat. 1 bis in an LGA enclosure with a single antenna offers better flexibility in the design of IoT devices and enables a wider range of uses, especially for size-sensitive applications. This LTE module provides a maximum data download speed (downlink) of 10 Mbps and at the same time extends battery life.
"Thanks to its unrivalled advantages, the EG800Q-EU LTE module from Quectel is ideal for a large number of mid-class IoT applications that require not only reliable but also cost-effective communication solutions," says Pavel Kováč, product specialist from SOS electronic.
Ideal 4G/LTE module for IoT and M2M middle-class applications
EG800Q-EU, Quectel’s industrial wireless communication module, which isbased on the QCX216 LTE IoT modem from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., is an LTE module designed for IoT devices in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Israel, with band coverage LTE FDD B1/3/5/7/8/20/28.
The maximum downlink data rate of 10 Mbps of this module and at the same time the already mentioned extension of battery life are ideal parameters for various high-performance applications of the Internet of Things (IoT), including smart consumption meters, equipment for tracking assets and e-mobility, as well as for parking meters and home automation.
The EG800Q-EU’s support of Cat.1 bis allows it to use a single antenna, balancing cost and performance and making the module an ideal solution for IoT terminals that are designed to be compact and cost-effective.
Main features of LTE module EG800Q-EU LTE Cat.1 bis:
- LTE Cat. 1communication module
- LGA form factor
- max. data rates: 10 Mbps DL/5 Mbps UL
- LTE FDD band coverage of B1/3/5/7/8/20/28
- Operating temperature–40°C to +85°C
- Dimensions: 15,8 mm × 17,7 mm × 2,4 mm
Flexible design and a wide range of IoT wireless applications
The EG800Q-EU also provides a rich set of Internet protocols, and industry-standard interfaces including USB 2.0/UART/I2C/PCM/USIM, which extends the suitability of the module to a variety of IoT applications such as asset management, remotely managed access control (RMAC), and smart grid.
In addition, the module supports DFOTA to enable automatic firmware upgrades and integrated Wi-Fi positioning services when there is no GPS signal indoors.
