Push the lever, insert a wire, free the lever - that´s all, what is necessary to install wires into the Wago 256 series. Cage clamps Wago 256 enable to assemble wire leads even without a tool. Moreover, modular version of the series 256 offers a possibility to “create” a connector with as many poles, as you just need. Another advantage is the fact, that thanks to seven colors available, it´s possible to color-differentiate particular poles/ signals thus significantly eliminating a possibility of incorrect wire assembly at consequent assembly. Color coding is also advantageous at long multi-pole rows, when for example a color coded each fifth/tenth pole can significantly help to identify a given pole.
Because of a modularity, the connectors are designed as “half-open” i.e. to close a row, it´s necessary to use a plastic end plate marked as 256-x00 (100,200,300,... depending on color). As it uses to be at Wago cage clamps - range of usable wire cross sections is very wide, in this case 0.08-2.5 mm2 and a maximum current is up to 24A. Pin spacing 5/5.08 mm means, that they can be used on a PCB with 5.0 but also 5.08mm pitch (thanks to the modularity).
That´s why, series 256 has ambitions to become a universal PCB connector in your designs, as it enables to create a connector according to your demands. Detailed information will provide you the Wago 256 datasheet, as well as datasheets at particular items.
