A great advantage of FT311D is, that it supports up to six serial interfaces - UART, PWM, SPI Master, SPI Slave, GPIOS and I2C Master, what was also the correct answer on a contest question. A possibility to choose from interfaces enables to use FT311D in virtually any application.
