Two series come from the legacy of the Takamisawa company acquired by Fujitsu in 1995 and probably out of respect for the engineers of the original company, even today the relays are still imprinted with the Takamisawa logo.
These are the SY and RY series. Both series are in the typical blue colour. At the time of their development, the need for SMD versions was not as acute as it is today, so they are only available in the "through-hole" version. The other series are already the product of joint work of the two teams, as indicated by the part number starting with the letters FTR (Fujitsu-Takamisawa-Relays).
SY Series
Small, nice, simple relay with one switching contact and a non-polarized coil. And most importantly, time-tested.
Basic Ratings:- Dimensions: 7,4 x 12,5 x 9,5 mm
- Contacts: 1c (SPDT)
- Contact Rating: 1A / 24VDC
- Surge Strength: 1500V
- Dielectric Strength - open contacts: 300Vac
- Dielectric Strength - coil-contacts: 1000Vac
RY Series
Already a bit bigger relay, but still nice with two switching contacts.
Basic Ratings:- Dimensions: 9,8 x 20,2 x 12,5 mm
- Contacts: 2c (DPDT)
- Contact Rating: 1A / 24VDC
- Surge Strength: 1500V
- Dielectric Strength - open contacts: 500Vac
- Dielectric Strength - coil-contacts: 1000Vac
Series FTR-B3, FTR-B4
The newer ones are in pairs. The FTR-B3 and FTR-B4 series have almost identical parameters, but the B3 is a so-called FLAT (or Low Profile) relay, B4 is a so-called SLIM relay.
And the choice then depends on the design of the device. Whether I need to get as many switching elements as possible on the smallest possible area (then we choose SLIM) or the design height of the device is critical and then we choose FLAT. These series already offer significantly more versions and options. There are SMD and Through-Hole versions, monostable and bistable.
Basic Ratings B3/B4:- Dimensions: 7,2 x 10,6 x 5,45 mm / 5,7 x 10,6 x 9 mm
- Contacts: 2c (DPDT)
- Contact Rating: 1A / 30VDC
- Surge Strength: 2500V
- Dielectric Strength - open contacts: 1000Vac
- Dielectric Strength - coil-contacts: 1500Vac
Series FTR-C1 and FTR-C2
The second pair consists of FTR-C1 and FTR-C2 series. Slightly larger dimensions but with higher dielectric strength. These are also suitable for power supply parts of communication equipment and are also available in both SMD and Through-Hole versions, monostable and bistable.
Basic Ratings C1 / C2:- Dimensions: 7,5 x 15 x 9,3 mm / 9,8 x 20,5 x 11,4 mm
- Contacts: 2c (DPDT)
- Contact Rating: 1 A / 30 VDC
- Surge Strength: 5000 V / 2500 V
- Dielectric Strength - open contacts: 1500 Vac
- Dielectric Strength - coil-contacts: 3000 Vac2000 V
NA Series
There is currently one additional older NA series available, however, it is no longer recommended for the new design.
Older means only Through Hole versions. The relay has 2 switching contacts. And it's a SLIM version, thus slim with a small footprint.
Basic Ratings:- Dimensions: 7,4 x 14,9 x 9,7 mm
- Contacts: 2c (DPDT)
- Contact Rating: 1A / 30VDC
- Surge Strength: 2500V
- Dielectric Strength - open contacts: 1000Vac
- Dielectric Strength - coil-contacts: 1500Vac
The majority of the mentioned series are our stock types. Many years ago, most customers chose one of three voltages for a 5, 12 or 24Vdc coil. Today bistable relays can also be operated from batteries. Therefore, we have enriched our offer by models with a coil at 1.5V or 3V or 4.5Vdc.
If you are considering using the relays in your application, we strongly caution the importance of planning and ordering well in advance. This will avoid potential problems with material shortages on the market.
