PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) has been utilized in various variants for controlling industrial processes, production lines, and similar applications for many decades. In most cases, PLCs are relatively complex modules with more or less complicated structures.
Therefore, programming small control systems and reading out of their parameters are often associated with significant effort. With the DISPLAY VISIONS‘ PLC series, programming becomes much simpler thanks to the powerful and free WYSIWYG tool, "PLC Designer". A lot of data such as measured values, diagrams, and easy-to-use keys can be implemented into multiple languages using this software.
How does the EA PLC module work?
The central PLC module, EA PLCC028-D8I4R4AR, also known as the "PLC core," represents the core of the system - an intelligent programmable relay. It features a built-in 2.8-inch IPS display with a touch panel. The display is easy to read from almost any angle (170°) and even in direct sunlight.
The basic unit of the EA PLC module for DIN rail mounting includes:
- 8 digital inputs
- 4 analog inputs (4 – 20 mA and 0 – 10 V)
- 4 relay outputs
- One RS-232
- Real-time clock (RTC)
The power supply voltage is 12 – 24 V, and data is transmitted via RS485 and Wi-Fi interfaces.
Up to 50 satellite terminals (EA PLCS) can be automatically connected to the central control unit. Depending on the amount of data you need to display, you will soon be able to choose satellite displays of various sizes - from a 1.5" panel with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels to a 10.1" panel with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels.
All process parameters are automatically synchronized in real time with the satellite displays and are individually configurable. This means that displaying current values can be flexibly implemented on one display, as well as individual settings for process parameters at another location. Each display follows its individual purpose: in servicing, work preparation, monitoring, or management. Satellite displays are available in various sizes and designs.
Compact integration directly into the device is also available by connecting via a flexible cable to various interfaces - SPI, I²C, or RS-232.
