Many wires in one place – but which one is which? Without proper marking, it’s simply impossible to know. A responsible designer keeps this in mind already when designing the device/ installation. Perhaps everyone will agree that good marking is an absolute must, perhaps with an exception of simplest devices or installations.
First idea may tell you just “to take a permanent marker and that´s it”. But it´s usually quite problematic to write on a round cables and durability of such marking on common isolations is usually quite poor. Moreover, it´s economically unprofitable to manually mark each and every cable and lead manually when we have a large number of them.
There are many producers supplying solutions for marking and Partex (Sweden) belongs to the very top in this segment. For an easier orientation, we have 3 possibilities of marking with Partex products:
Method 1 – single characters
Marking by single characters (usually already pre-printed at producer). This method is based on the principle that the desired text is selected from separate characters. No printer is necessary in this case but on the other hand, you need to buy various characters from which you´ll be sure you´re able to combine what you need. Usual series in this case are PY, PA, PZ, PAZ, PC,.... Overview of this method can be found in document Method 1.Method 2 – Multi-Character
In this case we mark wires directly by pre-printed marks containing characters/numbers printed directly at producer, the most frequently in a form of various sequences of numbers and so on. Partex also offers a possibility of custom printing. With method 2, almost all materials from method 1 are usable, mainly series PY, PA, PC, PO, PHZ and PKS. Overview of this method can be found in the document Method 2.Method 3 – On-site marking
In other words – printing of markers directly by user on a suitable printer. Partex produces several professional printers, for example PROMARK T-1000, PROMARK MK10 and other. This method is an ideal choice for everyone, who needs to mark in a bigger amount and /or also to print various non-standard symbols. Despite of a considerable initial investment, the printers usually quickly refunds themselves and you have free hands to print and use various materials from Partex production – you can print any text according to your current needs. Overview of this method can be found in the document Method 3.A very interesting material for printing is the oval tube of PO series (or POZ for a halogen free version). High quality white or yellow permanently elastic tube enables printing on Partex printers (for example MK10) and then a plug-in on a cable. High elasticity and shape memory ensure that a tube holds well on a lead and oval shape offers sufficient space even for relatively big characters.
We have included several selected Partex products in our ongoing stock offer.
