Equally important are the municipal authorities, whose consistent cooperation and open communication are vital for the smooth execution of projects. Additionally, our partners—both internal and external, including joint ventures, subcontractor associations, employees, and technicians—are fundamental to the success of every project. These elements together form a "puzzle," where targeted and high-quality procurement, combined with the expertise and professionalism of our partners and seamless collaboration with municipal authorities, results in the successful completion of projects. Can you share a success story where MESOGEOS Digital’s technology significantly impacted a city or urban area? What were the outcomes, and how did you measure success?

A proven success story is the Kavala Water Supply Network, one of the oldest projects in the region, which we are further enhancing with a new initiative. This latest endeavor focuses on accurate metering and monitoring of water consumption to identify and address any irregularities. Previously, Kavala relied on two pumps for regular water supply, with a third pump used primarily during the summer months.

This setup led to high water and electricity consumption, and at times, even water shortages during the summer. Our project has completely revamped the water supply system by zoning the network, regulating pressure, and significantly reducing leakages. What does this mean in practice? The water supply network features, varying pipe diameters, and elevation differences affected water distribution. Our project addressed these issues by redistributing water efficiently using valves. Each area now receives its required amount of water from specific pipelines connected to designated boreholes. You can imagine the network as a "spiderweb," but not flat; elevation differences posed a challenge.

With the adjustments we introduced, Kavala now operates efficiently with only two pumps instead of three, meeting water needs more effectively while improving operational autonomy. This autonomy is largely due to the network's zoning, pressure control, and reduced leakages. Additionally, water and electricity consumption have dropped considerably. Before the project, all three pumps were in constant operation. Now, the system operates with just one or two pumps, while the reservoirs are refilled during the night when consumption is low, ensuring sufficient water for the following day. Moreover, all system parameters—such as pressure, flow, supply, and leakages—are continuously monitored. In case of emergencies or issues, the municipality can respond promptly, effectively, and without complications.

Data privacy and security are essential in digital transformations, especially in smart cities. How does MESOGEOS Digital approach these concerns, and what measures do you implement to ensure data integrity?
