Those who have some experience with DIN rail enclosures know that every producer has its own families of products with a wide range of accessories. Usually, DIN rail enclosures are being produced in so-called width modules (1M = width of 17,5mm). That's why, for example, a 4-Module enclosure is 70mm wide.
Hammond Electronics, as our long-term supplier of high-quality enclosures, has introduced a useful range of 5 sizes of DIN rail enclosures. And as it is good practice with this manufacturer, all the necessary accessories are quickly available, clearly marked and easy to use.
The enclosures are available as 2-, 4-, 6- and 9-module wide, as well as so-called “Control box” 23mm wide. Enclosures are supplied with openings at their front and rear sides for connection of wire leads. The modular design allows configuring the enclosures to suit wide variety of requirements.
DIN rail enclosures and the covers could be combined as follows:
- left open without covers
- closed with full covers
- partially covered with knock-out covers for plug-in connectors
- partially covered with oval covers
- partially closed with vented covers
1597DIN family is made of UL94-V0 flame-retardant plastic. All sizes have two mounting positions for the terminal blocks, giving wide possibilities of I/O pins. The body contains two horizontal PCB mounting slots and two standoffs in the base for component or PCB mounting. The 22,5 wide Slim Control box has ventilated sides and is suitable for any common types of electronics.
All models can be easily assembled and also disassembled without any tool. The front panel is recessed, suitable for further drilling, milling or just adding an identification label for example. The enclosures consist of dark grey PPO (polyphenylene oxide) base part with a polystyrene DIN rail mounting clip and the main enclosure body is RAL 7035 light grey polycarbonate.
