It is a gesture that we hope will be appreciated not only by customers from Netherlands but also by the whole European Union and even beyond. SOS electronic asked their well-tried supplier of connectors, Italian company Euroclamp, to supply the most common connectors in orange color. Current standard color is green (that is the decision from the times when SOS electronic started to support environmental activists).
Who’ll benefit from it? One aspect is aesthetics – Mr Constructors, ask your female colleagues about this aspect – you’ll be surprised. It’s no longer true that ladies distinguish between red, white, blue… cars. I expect that the most common answer is going to be – if we have more blocks of input or output connectors (individual channels, or sensors…) on a single printed circuit board, it is reasonable to distinguish these blocks by color, especially if your device is installed or controlled/maintained outside (or abroad) by external mechanic. This reduces the risk of incorrect connection.

We started to offer orange connectors some time ago already for our Dutch customers. We were pleasantly surprised – some of them came to thank us in front of our office in Netherlands.
The bottom left side of the title picture shows Mr van der Haal and his son form the eponymous company who did not agree with our decision and they will continue to use green connectors only. But that’s life :)
